The Gucci Lady Web

Updated: Mar 3, 2022

We've all been in awe of the stunning new creations of Alessandro Michele's new Gucci. He has taken classic 70s and 80s looks and given them a modern twist. Lets face it vintage handbags are hotter than ever this year. With so many new and interesting styles it's important to remember there are many previously owned treasures to uncover at amazing prices. You just need to know what to look for and that's where I step in.

With the surge of vintage appeal and Alessandro's new creations there is a period of Gucci that is near and dear to my heart which is somewhat overlooked. I believe the cause is a lack of knowledge of these bags.

My "vintage" are the looks from 2000 to 2016. It is my goal in this blog to reintroduce you to Gucci's most memorable handbag styles from 2000 to present. First and foremost the Gucci Lady Web.

Gucci Lady Web Tan Suede Handbag

Two straps came with the Lady Web one Gucci Web strap and one Suede/ Leather strap

The Lady web was released for Spring Summer 2015 and was Frida Giannini's last line with Gucci. She focused on classic styles with neat and clear lines, aiming to keep rigorous silhouettes. The Spring Summer 2015 show had a strong military influence with brass buttons and vintage 70s appeal. Giannini focused on the woman who wants to please herself rather than others. The Lady Web is a stunning handbag. Made in suede, hand stained leather, Guccissima canvas, or python these bags feature two detachable straps for a versatile look.
